KUALA LUMPUR - Kementerian Perdagangan Dalam Negeri dan Hal Ehwal Pengguna (KPDNHEP) merekodkan sebanyak 11,182 aduan transaksi dalam talian sejak Januari tahun lalu hingga semalam.
Menterinya, Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi berkata, statistik juga menunjukkan berlaku peningkatan jumlah aduan yang diterima iaitu sebanyak 5,767 kes dalam tempoh Januari hingga semalam berbanding 5,415 sepanjang tahun lalu.
"Daripada jumlah itu, kes paling tinggi melibatkan aduan tidak menerima barang atau perkhidmatan yang ditawarkan iaitu sebanyak 3,870 aduan untuk tahun ini dan 3,589 aduan pada 2019.
"Penipuan sebegini semakin serius jadi KPDNHEP meningkatkan pemantauan dan penguatkuasaan supaya ia dapat ditangani," katanya.
Beliau berkata demikian selepas merasmikan Kempen Aeon 626 yang turut dihadiri Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Aeon Retail Malaysia, Shafie Shamsuddin di Aeon Taman Maluri Shopping Centre, Cheras di sini hari ini.
Menurutnya, kes penjualan barang tiruan dalam talian pula mencatatkan sebanyak 50 aduan pada tahun ini dan 66 aduan pada tahun lalu.
"Hasil penguatkuasaan yang lebih agresif KPDNHEP melakukan sebanyak 384 penurunan kandungan dan halangan akses terhadap penjual yang didapati menipu dari Januari hingga 3 Jun lalu.

KUCHING: Pengguna elektrik di Sarawak yang menerima bil yang melambung tinggi disaran mengambil gambar penggunaan sebenar elektrik di meter premis mereka dan menghantarnya kepada Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB), untuk semakan semula.
SEB, syarikat pembekal tenaga elektrik tunggal di negeri ini menyatakan, bil yang dikeluarkan untuk bulan Jun juga mencerminkan anggaran penggunaan untuk tempoh antara Mac dan Mei tahun ini, kerana kerja pembacaan meter sebenar ditangguhkan ekoran pelaksanaan Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan (PKP) dan Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan Bersyarat (PKPB).
"Dalam tempoh PKP, kebanyakan bil untuk bulan Mac, April dan Mei adalah berdasarkan anggaran penggunaan, dikira melalui corak penggunaan pengguna sebelum tempoh PKP," kata Pengurus Besar (Runcit) SEB, Ng Shou Fui dalam satu kenyataan hari ini.
Beliau berkata berikutan kebanyakan pengguna dan keluarga mereka berada di rumah sepanjang tempoh PKP, kemungkinan mereka lebih kerap menggunakan peralatan elektrik, yang mengakibatkan peningkatan penggunaan tenaga di rumah masing-masing.
"Kami menggesa pelanggan kami yang menghadapi sebarang masalah berhubung bil elektrik mereka untuk menghubungi eksekutif khidmat pelanggan di pusat khidmat pelanggan kami.
"Ambil gambar bacaan di meter dan petugas kami akan membuat pengiraan semula. Bil yang dibetulkan akan dikirim melalui e-mel kepada pelanggan,” katanya.

PETALING JAYA: Tenaga Nasional Bhd is studying several mechanisms to address recent complaints about high electricity charges by the consumers during the movement control order (MCO) period, says Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid.
The TNB chairman said the management of the energy company was working together with the Water, Land and Natural Resources Ministry and the Energy Commission to find a solution.
“I take note of the inconvenience and complaints voiced by the people after receiving their TNB bills. I hope this explanation will more or less ease worries and give some relief to Malaysians, ” he wrote on Facebook yesterday.
When the MCO started on March 18, Mahdzir said, on-site reading of TNB meters had to be temporarily stopped and only estimations were done for March and April usage. The estimated readings were then sent to consumers via the myTNB app.
“The on-site reading resumed on May 15, and the latest bills that consumers received are the actual usage of electricity since the MCO began, ” he said.
Mahdzir also refuted allegations on the allowance he receives in his position.
“I take this opportunity to deny some ‘naughty’ claims by certain parties about my allowance as TNB chairman. The actual allowance received is much lower.
“It is enough for me to say that it is too low (sic) than what is being claimed, ” he added.
KUCHING: Electricity bills issued by Sarawak Energy Bhd (SEB) in June will reflect adjustments for actual electricity consumption.
With the resumption of meter reading services this month, SEB retail general manager Ng Shou Fui said bills for June would show the actual consumption after three months of estimated readings during the movement control order (MCO) period.
She said the estimated bill amount based on usage patterns prior to the MCO was generally less than the actual electricity consumption during the MCO.
After actual meter readings were taken in June, the bill amount included the under-estimated amounts billed in March, April and May, resulting in higher bills for June.
"Electricity usage from domestic customers increased during the MCO period because of the sudden change in our daily routine.
“Many householders were at home, fully utilising electrical appliances such as air-conditioners, the television or even the oven," said Ng in a statement Wednesday (June 17).
Customers concerned about their bills can submit their actual meter readings at SEB's customer service centres, via email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or through the SEBcares mobile app.
"The amount can be corrected by providing us with the actual meter readings. Just take a photo of the reading on the meter and our team will do a recalculation.
“The amended bills will be emailed to customers," Ng said.

SHAH ALAM - Yayasan Keprihatinan Komuniti Malaysia (MCCF) menyarankan kerajaan memberikan potongan 50 peratus caj bayaran takrif bil elektrik sepanjang tiga bulan Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan (PKP).
Pengerusinya, Halim Ishak berkata, ia wajar dengan mengambil kira tindakan kerajaan mengisytiharkan PKP untuk menyekat wabak koronavirus (Covid-19) yang memerlukan rakyat berkurung di rumah.
"Secara tidak langsung rakyat diperintahkan mengurung diri mereka di kediaman masing-masing dan tindakan denda serta tahanan dikenakan bagi mereka yang ingkar arahan PKP.
"Ini sudah tentu mengakibatkan penggunaan elektrik di rumah akan meningkat kerana penggunaan peralatan elektrik sepenuh masa di zaman teknologi tinggi bagi mengurangkan tekanan perasaan rakyat yang majoriti terpaksa akur dan menyokong tindakan kerajaan dalam memerangi wabak Covid-19 ini.
"Peranan dan kerjasama rakyat Malaysia juga akhirnya membuatkan Malaysia dikenali dan disegani dalam mengawal penularan wabak Covid-19," katanya dalam satu kenyataan hari ini.
Tambah beliau, pihak Tenaga Nasional Berhad juga perlu memberi perhatian serius dengan memperhalusi isu kadar prorata bil elektrik sepertimana dinyatakan Menteri Tenaga dan Sumber Asli, Datuk Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah baru-baru ini.

BUTTERWORTH: A graphic designer lost close to RM20,000 in a call scam recently.
The 27-year-old reportedly received a call on Saturday from an officer purportedly from Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) claiming that she has income tax arrears from her company.
She explained that she did not own any sort of company, hence the officer connected the call line to a 'police headquarters' in Kedah to lodge a report online.
She was then given a link to a Bank Negara Malaysia application through WhatsApp to install on her phone and fill in her bank details.
She was also warned not to speak to others about the case.
The victim then tried to log into her bank account but cold not do so. When she contacted the bank and was told that RM19,998 from her account has been transferred to an unknown account.
Seberang Prai Utara district police chief Assistant Commissioner Noorzainy Mohd Noor said that she lodged a report after her money went missing from her account.
KUALA TERENGGANU: Kementerian Perdagangan Dalam Negeri dan Hal Ehwal Pengguna (KPDNHEP) mengingatkan orang ramai supaya memeriksa dan mendapatkan pengesahan pihak berkenaan sebelum membeli produk berkaitan kesihatan yang dijual terlalu murah.
Timbalan Menterinya, Datuk Rosol Wahid, berkata antaranya ialah alat pengimbas suhu digital yang dikatakan ada dijual jauh lebih murah berbanding harga pasaran, sekali gus didakwa sekadar memenuhi syarat ditetapkan Prosedur Operasi Standard (SOP).
Mengakui pihaknya menyedari kes sedemikian, beliau menegaskan, kes itu kini dalam perhatian KPDNHEP untuk tindakan susulan.
"Buat masa sekarang kita hanya boleh menasihati peniaga dan pengguna supaya membelinya daripada kedai yang sah dan diakui membekal alat berkenaan.
"Jangan beli daripada penjual tidak sah dan pastikan alat pengimbas mempunyai pengesahan Sirim Berhad (Sirim) bagi memastikan ia berfungsi dengan baik," katanya selepas program pematuhan dalam Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan Pemulihan (PKPP) di sini, hari ini.
Rosol berkata, KPDNHEP tidak mempunyai peraturan khusus berkaitan alat pengimbas suhu digital produk murahan itu.
Katanya, orang ramai yang mempunyai maklumat mengenai kedai atau pembekal menjual alat tidak berkualiti itu boleh melaporkannya kepada KPDNHEP untuk tindakan.

TAKTIK penjenayah meminta mangsa memuat turun aplikasi kononnya daripada Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) memerangkap jurureka grafik apabila wang simpanan berjumlah RM19,998 lesap selepas dia menyerahkan maklumat akaun bank.
Dalam kejadian Sabtu lalu, wanita berusia 27 tahun itu menerima panggilan telefon daripada lelaki kononnya pegawai Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia (SPRM) yang menyatakan mangsa mempunyai tunggakan cukai dengan pihak Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri (LHDN) dan perlu menjelaskannya secepat mungkin.
Ketua Polis Daerah Seberang Perai Utara, Asisten Komisioner Noorzainy Mohd Noor berkata, mangsa terkejut dengan panggilan itu memandangkan dia tidak memiliki sebarang syarikat seperti yang dimaklumkan.
"Panggilan mangsa kemudian disambungkan ke Ibu Pejabat Polis Kontinjen (IPK) Kedah untuk buat laporan atas talian.
"Selepas disoal siat mangsa menerima pautan aplikasi BNM melalui WhatsApp dan diminta untuk muat turun aplikasi berkenaan.
"Mangsa tidak mengesyaki apa-apa memandangkan dia percaya bahawa aplikasi BNM itu adalah benar lalu mengisikan segala maklumat peribadi dan perbankan miliknya," katanya dalam kenyataan di Georgetown, hari ini.

The water that Malaysians consume originates from surface water sources that have been treated in treatment plants under stringent control and complies with the minimum quality standards set by the Health Ministry as per the guidelines issued by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
The physical, chemical and microbiological components of water are checked regularly. Hence, according to the National Water Services Commission, the country's water supply is not only clean and safe to consume directly but is also free of E. coli bacteria. But what about the presence of the Covid-19 virus?
WHO has stated that the virus that causes Covid-19 has not been detected in drinking water. Conventional water treatment methods that use filtration and disinfection, such as those in most municipal drinking water systems, should remove or inactivate the coronavirus that causes Covid-19.
Besides, the risk to water supplies is low as substances added during the treatment process such as chlorine kill the pathogens before they reach the tap.
Although the risk of Covid-19 is low in drinking water and is relatively safe to consume without the need for additional water filtration, there is suspicion on how low is the low.
Different water filters have different functions. Some can make the water taste better, while others filter harmful chemicals or germs. No single filter can keep every type of contaminant out of the drinking water, and as the filter ranges in price, one must be certain of which contaminants to be removed.
